Thank you Leopold Education Project!

WAEE is proud to showcase the partners that support the 2011 WAEE Fall Conference

“The Leopold Education Project (LEP) is an innovative, interdisciplinary, critical thinking, conservation and environmental education curriculum based on the classic writings of the renowned conservationist, Aldo Leopold.” http://www.lep.org/about/ Aldo Leopold is a huge part of the conservation and environmental education history in Wisconsin.  The curriculum is designed mostly for teacher use but non-formal education centers often use this curriculum as well for groups and public programs. The curriculum combines the literature of Aldo Leopold with activties and opportunities for direct connection with the natural world.

There is a brand new resource from the Leopold Education Project entitled “Exploring the Outdoors with Aldo Leopold“. This resource focuses on “observation skills, stewardship, plants and animals, management and outdoor skills”. Just like the other resources, this one revolves around writings from Aldo Leopold and makes connections between the themes and the writings. WAEE is very excited to be hosting a LEP workshop on this new resource
The Leopold Education Project is supported by Pheasants Forever and WAEE is honored to have LEP as a sponsor and workshop leader at the Fall Conference this year. at the Fall Conference. It will be a great opportunity for formal educators and non-formal educators from all over the state to be trained in this incredible program. The workshops will be on Thursday of the conference and is an all day event. Pre-registration is required so be sure to check it out on the WAEE website when you register for the conference.
