Golden Sands RC&D Celebrating 40th Anniversary
Golden Sands Resource Conservation & Development Council, Inc. (WAEE Organizational Member) is celebrating 40 years of stewardship, education, conservation and rural development initiatives serving the counties of Portage, Waushara, Waupaca, Marathon, Wood, Monroe, Juneau, Adams, and Marquette.
The public is invited to join in on the celebration by attending the 40th Anniversary Banquet on August 18th from 5-9pm at the Jensen Center in Amherst, WI. The banquet includes a social hour for guests to visit exhibits and sample locally produced beer from Central Waters Brewery and Raven’s Cache wine from Pine River Winery. Golden Sands very own limited edition “Boomin’ Brew” label from Central Waters will be available. The dinner features grass-fed meats and locally-grown fresh produce, complemented with beverages. Tickets are $40 in advance, or $50 at the door. Advance tickets may be bought on-line at www.goldensandsrcd.orgG. All proceeds from this event benefit Golden Sands RC&D’s ongoing commitment to working together for better living in a healthy environment in Central Wisconsin.
Since 1972, Golden Sands RC&D has focused on protecting and promoting Central Wisconsin’s natural resources by partnering with state and federal government agencies, county governments, municipalities, other conservation groups, grass-roots organizations, teachers, farmers, conservationists and others to work toward common goals. The organization works every day on projects that support sustainable agriculture, healthy forests, clean water and abundant wildlife. And are also the proud recipients of the 2012 UW-SP College of Natural Resources Outstanding Contributor Award.
