AUDUBON MINNESOTA IS HIRING A COMMUNITY-BASED CONSERVATION SPECIALIST FOR THE RED WING, MN AREA
PURPOSE: To advance Audubon’s conservation agenda in southeastern Minnesota, focusing on the birds of the Mississippi River south of Hastings.
The primary focus of this job is to identify and implement on-the-ground conservation work by engaging partners and citizen volunteers.
The Red Wing Community Conservation Specialist will serve as an Audubon employee and will have an office in Red Wing. The employee will be supervised by Audubon Minnesota staff in St. Paul, and work closely with our state and Flyway staff who will add their expertise and assistance to projects as needed.
We are looking for an individual with a basic understanding of Minnesota’s ecology including knowledge of aquatic and terrestrial habitats and at least one year of professional work experience. A Master’s Degree in Ecology, Conservation Biology or a related field is desired as is knowledge of Minnesota’s birds. Excellent written and oral communication skills and listening skills are necessary. Effective public speaking skills are essential.
